Mission

Improving the lives of infants and children through the study of their development is our primary goal.

Understanding what influences developmental change is crucial for improving the lives of children. Our second goal is to identify the many events and factors that are related to how children travel from milestone to milestone.

Recruiting parents who are willing to watch for events like a child’s first step is a goal that will help us collect crucial information. Parents are in the best position to see and report on what their child is doing, and by combining the reports of many parents we can discover new truths about how children develop. If you are the parent or caregiver for a child, check our list of active projects to see if you want to join a study.

Providing families with quality information about children’s development is how we aim to thank parents for their help. We are committed to the dissemination of evidence-based information that is not influenced by commercial interests. Our non-profit public-interest approach is possible thanks to public and private support of universities, research granting agencies, and private contributions.
